Client of REEQWEST HR Consultancy Solutions is seeking an experienced Culinary Operations Manager to join their team.

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have proven work experience as a Kitchen, sous chef or Head Chef, with hands-on experience in planning menus and ordering ingredients. They should possess knowledge of a wide range of recipes and familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage kitchen staff and coordinate food orders
  2. Supervise food prep and cooking
  3. Check food plating and temperature
  4. Establish portion sizes
  5. Schedule kitchen staff shifts
  6. Price menu items in collaboration with the Restaurant Manager
  7. Order food supplies and kitchen equipment, as needed
  8. Train kitchen staff on prep work and food plating techniques
  9. Store food products in compliance with safety practices (e.g. in refrigerators)
  10. Keep weekly and monthly cost reports
  11. Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area

Requirements:

  1. Proven work experience as a Kitchen, sous chef or Head Chef
  2. Hands-on experience with planning menus and ordering ingredients
  3. Knowledge of a wide range of recipes
  4. Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations
  5. Excellent organizational skills
  6. Conflict management abilities
  7. Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced work environment
  8. Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends
  9. Certification from a culinary school or degree in Restaurant Management is a plus
