The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled General Technician to join our engineering team at the InterContinental Fujairah Resort. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of all hotel policies, standards, and procedures related to energy conservation and control, fire prevention, and other life safety programs.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Energy Management: Participate in the execution of the departmental budget and control expenses with a focus on energy management and preventive maintenance.
- Quality Assurance: Work with general contractors and subcontractors to ensure quality work is performed.
- Maintenance Coordination: Arrange for additional services such as repair work, renovations, and equipment replacement as required.
- Preventive Maintenance: Carry out regular maintenance to specified standards.
- Safety Protocols: Ensure that all related tools are stored safely and in working condition.
- Interdepartmental Cooperation: Coordinate with other departments to ensure satisfaction with quality and progress.
- Emergency Preparedness: Be aware of emergency procedures in the hotel.
- Disciplinary Procedures: Ensure adherence to departmental disciplinary procedures.
- Guest Relations: Deliver exceptional customer service and provide creative solutions to guests.
- Continuous Improvement: Focus on continuous improvement during departmental meetings and emphasize guest satisfaction.
- Role Modeling: Set a positive example for guest relations.
- Energy Conservation Initiatives: Implement energy conservation activities/initiatives for the property as assigned.
- Fire Life Safety Program Activities: Participate in ongoing inspection of plant and equipment conditions to determine maintenance requirements.
- Fire Life Safety Program Implementation: Implement Fire Life Safety program activities of the department as tasked.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 years' experience in hotels in a similar position.
- Background: Previous background in repair and maintenance with hands-on experience.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and use of test equipment.
- Language Skills: Good command of English language, both oral and written.
