About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Expert to join our team in the Upstream Oil & Gas sector.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with experience in financial reporting. As a Financial Reporting Expert, you will be responsible for coordinating the preparation of financial statements, analyzing data, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Statement Preparation: Coordinate the preparation of all filings of F&A Reporting Section according to GAAP and IFRS bases of accounting.
  2. Financial Analysis: Assist in researching and documenting accounting issues as they arise.
  3. Relationship Building: Develop and leverage relationships with other departments within the company.
  4. Financial Performance Analysis: Fully responsible for the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements, analysis, and interpretation of the company's financial performance.
  5. Financial Review: Review financial statements for operating trends and results, researching variances to forecast and budget from the prior month and prior year.
  6. Management Reporting: Responsible for Management Reporting.
  7. Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve issues impacting the ability to provide accurate and timely financial information to management.
  8. Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Ensure that balance sheets are accurately stated and reconciled to the general ledger.
  9. External Audit Coordination: Responsible for the preparation and coordination of the External Audit.
  10. Travel Requirement: Must be able to travel to Iraq for business trips.

Requirements

  1. Education: Bachelor's or higher degree in Finance and Accounting.
  2. Certification: CPA certification is highly desired.
  3. Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience in accounting, finance, and accounts payable.
  4. Industry Background: Upstream Oil & Gas Industry Accounting background preferred.
  5. Language Skills: Fluent in English and Arabic.
  6. Technical Skills: Microsoft Office Skills Required, experience with Sun Accounting System, SAP, or any other ERP.
  7. Soft Skills: Planning and organizing skills.
