Job Title: Kitchen Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary:

The Kitchen Maintenance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the kitchen area, including all equipment and facilities. This role involves cleaning, minor repairs, waste management, and assisting kitchen staff in maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and Sanitation:
    • Ensure that all kitchen areas, including sinks, countertops, and drains, are clean and free of debris.
    • Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen tools using appropriate methods and equipment.
    • Dispose of kitchen waste and recycling properly, following health and safety regulations.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
    • Perform routine maintenance on kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, dishwashers, refrigerators, and freezers.
    • Report any malfunctioning or damaged equipment to the supervisor and arrange for repairs if necessary.
    • Replace filters, bulbs, and other small components to keep equipment in good working order.
  • Safety Compliance:
    • Ensure that the kitchen adheres to all health and safety regulations, including food safety standards.
    • Keep walkways, exits, and storage areas clear of hazards.
    • Handle cleaning chemicals and equipment safely, using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Assist in monitoring and managing kitchen inventory, including cleaning supplies and maintenance materials.
    • Notify the supervisor when supplies are low and need to be reordered.
  • Assisting Kitchen Staff:
    • Assist cooks and other kitchen staff with tasks such as unloading deliveries, organizing storage areas, and setting up workstations.
    • Help in food preparation tasks as needed, such as peeling vegetables or portioning ingredients.
  • Waste Management:
    • Manage kitchen waste, including compostable materials, recycling, and general waste.
    • Ensure that garbage bins are emptied regularly and that waste is disposed of in accordance with environmental and health regulations.
  • Other Duties:
    • Perform other related duties as assigned by the kitchen supervisor or manager.
    • Support the overall operation of the kitchen to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient environment.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in kitchen maintenance or a similar role is preferred but not always required.
  • Skills:
    • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cleaning procedures.
    • Ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
    • Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift and carry heavy items, such as pots and pans.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to AED4,000.00 per month
