Job Role

The Project Cost Controller is responsible for managing the financial aspects of construction projects, including developing and maintaining accurate cost estimates and monitoring project budgets and expenditures.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain accurate cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Monitor project budgets and expenditures, providing regular financial reports to stakeholders.
  • Analyze cost variances and identify trends to mitigate financial risks.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to evaluate supplier quotes and ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions.
  • Implement robust cost control procedures and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with financial policies and project requirements.
  • Prepare and present cost reports and forecasts to senior management.
  • Assist in bid submissions and proposals, ensuring accurate representation of cost components.
  • Coordinate with project teams to streamline cash flow management.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in road and infrastructure construction (5-10 years)
  • Familiarity with construction methodology, process, and sequence of work
  • Determining key variables for cost and other estimates
  • Good relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers)
  • Excellent numerical skills and analytical mindset
  • Gather first-hand information from sites and market
  • Experience/knowledge to conduct research on labor costs, materials, production, etc.
  • Obtain and review offers and quotes by subcontractors or vendors
  • Perform risk analysis
  • Familiarity with financial and project management principles
  • Proficient in relevant software CAD and CANDY or similar software
