Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Unconventional Reservoir Simulation Engineer to join our team at MatchaTalent. As a key member of our reservoir simulation team, you will be responsible for leading and participating in integrated reservoir simulation studies, including data analysis, model construction, history matching, calibration, and prediction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and expertise to management and colleagues on best practices for reservoir simulation and modeling, particularly for unconventional resources simulation challenges.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with Petroleum and Operations Engineers to generate, monitor, and ensure execution of short-term and long-term data gathering plans for their field, including well tests, production logging tests, and formation pressure data.
  • Software Utilization: Utilize petroleum engineering software for various analyses, including well test analysis, material balance, production logging, and nodal analysis.
  • Simulation Modeling: Apply specialized simulation modeling techniques, such as fracture modeling, compositional modeling, PVT modeling, coupling surface and subsurface modeling, and complex well and smart completions.
  • Field Development Optimization: Study and propose alternatives to optimize field development and maximize hydrocarbon recovery from new and mature fields.
  • Mentorship and Training: Provide expert mentoring, training, and teach in-house technical courses to develop young engineers.
  • External Representation: Represent MatchaTalent in external technical contacts with consultants and vendors, and participate in technical societies and groups.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in petroleum engineering, reservoir simulation, and modeling, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills.
