We are currently seeking a seasoned and detail-oriented Compliance Officer & Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) to spearhead our newly formed team. This role is crucial in guiding our organization towards achieving compliance as a licensed Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP). As the MLRO, you will be instrumental in upholding the integrity of First Digital Trust while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards concerning AML/CFT, financial crime, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take a proactive approach in developing, implementing, and overseeing the compliance framework for our VASP entity, including the evaluation of compliance policies and procedures, providing guidance on business processes, and conducting training sessions.
  • Serve as the designated MLRO, ensuring strict compliance with relevant regulations and maintaining comprehensive oversight of internal controls and reporting mechanisms.
  • Monitor and assess the organization's risk management framework and overall exposure to risks associated with its operations.
  • Deliver precise, consistent, and timely guidance to the organization, reporting to senior management on compliance and risk-related issues.
  • Collaborate closely with various departments (such as Legal, Operations, and Technology) to identify opportunities for enhancing compliance processes through automation and lead the execution of these improvements.
  • Guide and develop a team of compliance professionals, serving as a point of escalation for inquiries or concerns.
  • Foster a robust culture of risk and compliance, participating in the Compliance Committee to ensure the application of best practices across the organization.
  • Stay informed about industry trends in regulatory compliance, emerging threats, and strategies to mitigate associated risks.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; a law degree is highly preferred.
  • Compliance certification (such as CAMS or ICA) is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in compliance, specifically in AML/CFT, financial crime, internal audit, or risk management, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements in the digital asset or fintech sectors.
  • Experience in a VASP environment is preferred, though exceptional candidates from other financial services or fintech backgrounds may be considered.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present information clearly to diverse audiences, including direct interaction with regulatory authorities. Proficiency in English is essential.
  • Demonstrated reliability in independent work, with sound judgment on when to escalate issues.
