Position Overview

The Director of Food and Beverage is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality in food and beverage services while maximizing profitability and guest satisfaction. This role involves strategic planning and operational management to align with the overall objectives of the hotel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Assurance: Uphold the standards of food and beverage quality and guest service.
  • Financial Management: Achieve budgeted revenues and expenses, focusing on maximizing profitability within the department.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Contribute to the profitability and guest satisfaction of other hotel departments.
  • Sales and Marketing: Implement and maintain effective local and national sales/marketing initiatives.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop both short-term and long-term financial and operational plans for the food and beverage department.
  • Budget Preparation: Participate in the annual hotel budget preparation process.
  • Guest Satisfaction: Enhance guest satisfaction through improved product delivery via employee development and quality image.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to company policies, local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Financial Security: Maintain procedures for the security of financial transactions and inventory control.
  • Complaint Resolution: Address departmental guest complaints and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.
  • Human Resources Management: Oversee recruitment, training, and development of staff within the division.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the division's annual budget and business/marketing plans.
  • Program Implementation: Ensure compliance with company programs and safety regulations.
  • Marketing Initiatives: Promote food and beverage outlets through innovative menus and promotional activities.
  • Maintenance Oversight: Manage the sanitation and maintenance of food and beverage areas and equipment.
  • Customer Relations: Resolve customer complaints effectively to maintain high satisfaction levels.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Director of Food & Beverage in a luxury hotel environment.
  • Experience in the Middle East is considered an asset.
  • A minimum of four to five years in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of food and beverage management principles and practices.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex activities.
