Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Staff Nurse-Operating Room to join our team at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City - SSMC. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the delivery of high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assessment and Diagnosis: Collect and analyze comprehensive data to determine patient needs, prioritizing immediate conditions and identifying potential risks or barriers to health and safety.
  2. Planning and Outcomes Identification: Develop individualized plans of care that address health promotion, restoration, and maintenance, involving patients, families, and healthcare teams in formulating culturally appropriate plans.
  3. Implementation and Coordination of Care Delivery: Implement plans of care in partnership with patients, families, and healthcare teams, utilizing evidence-based interventions and treatments specific to patient needs.
  4. Health Teaching and Health Promotion: Utilize teaching strategies to support patients and families in developing skills for healthy lifestyles and self-management, ensuring documentation of health education in patient records.
  5. Evaluation: Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes, involving patients, families, and healthcare teams in the evaluation process, and providing comprehensive clinical handovers as required.
Accountabilities
  1. Professional Practice: Apply principles of professional codes of ethics, maintaining a professional and therapeutic nurse-patient relationship and serving as a patient advocate.
  2. Leadership and Communication: Demonstrate leadership behaviors, coordinating and supervising delegated activities, and participating in organizational shared decision-making situations to improve nursing practice and outcomes.
  3. Quality and Safety: Evaluate own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, rules, and regulations, and promotes a practice environment that reduces environmental health risks for staff.
Qualifications

We require a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience post-qualification in an appropriate setting, and a Bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent qualifications. Desired qualifications include ACLS and PALS relevant to the area of specialty.
