Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Residential Life Coordinator at the American University of Sharjah. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, providing a friendly environment, and overseeing the safety and security of resident students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Student Support: Provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for students, addressing their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Community Building: Work with Complex Managers, Residential Hall Coordinators, and other units on campus to create a strong and cohesive community in the residence halls.
  • Safety and Security: Collaborate with Residential Life Resource Officers and RHCs to ensure the safety and security of resident students, addressing potential cases of students not reporting to the halls after curfew.
  • Administrative Tasks: Handle administrative requests and correspondence, including curfew management, access cards, and student records using the housing management system.
  • Communication: Ensure students understand the rules, regulations, facilities, and services available to them through direct communication and flyers/posters.
  • Resource Referral: Refer students to the proper resources on campus, including university health care, student counseling, and academic support centers.
  • Event Planning: Assist in the planning and execution of events and activities that promote community building and student engagement.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as student affairs, education, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a related field, preferably in a residential life or student affairs setting.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in housing management systems.
