Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with expertise in Solidworks to join our team at Actalent. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical control systems for industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Develop Electrical Control Systems: Utilize Solidworks to design and develop electrical control systems for industrial equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  2. Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with mechanical designers, sales, vendors, manufacturing, and customers to define requirements and specifications for control systems.
  3. Develop Electrical Schematics: Create detailed electrical schematics for control systems, including component layout and labeling requirements.
  4. Manage Bill of Materials: Develop and maintain accurate bill of materials for control systems.
  5. Troubleshoot and Debug: Troubleshoot and debug hardware and software issues related to control systems.

Requirements:

  1. 5-10 Years of Experience: Minimum 5-10 years of experience with Solidworks Electrical and control system design.
  2. Technical Expertise: Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and/or EPLAN, as well as experience with PLC programming, C# preferred.
  3. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  4. Business Acumen: Understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes, as well as experience in aerospace and defense manufacturing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. ERP Systems Experience: Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
  2. Variable Frequency Drives Experience: Experience with variable frequency drives.
  3. Microsoft Office Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
