**JOB DESCRIPTION- MARINE TECHNICAL**
- Coordinate for all technical matters and ensure that safety is being given the highest priority.
- Maintain close communication with the vessel management team, and lead, develop, spare and coach assigned Senior Officers on all matters (safety, technical, cost leadership).
- Co-operate and work across all onshore departments such as, operations and purchasing.
- Responsible for maintenance, repairs, planned maintenance and modifications to the vessels’ hull and machineries.
- Plan, coordinate and execute inspections.
- Follow up on the performance of the vessels and arrange corrective actions to be carried out when necessary.
- Initiate innovations, savings and improvements within the area of responsibility.
- Monitor the quality of all service providers.
- Liaise and coordinate with vessel, Master and Chief Engineer to ensure all spares and equipment's are in place and accordingly coordinate internally with purchase for order
- Take part in vessel audits and inspections for technical matters in coordination with the internal depts.
- Prepare for arranging workshops, repairs and maintenance, coordinating with different authorized vendors and maker companies.
- Advising the ships under control on budget as well as the actual cost for the technical items
- Reducing costs by motivating the ship’s staff, improving cost awareness by regularly advising them on cost of stores and spares ordered and encouraging ship crew to
- Checking all bills for repairs/luboils/spares/stores and keeping verification of same through shipboard record of supplies/consumption.
- Monitoring and establishing reasons for excessive/unusual wear and tear and developing means to control/rectify the same onboard.
- Knowledge on TMSA/ SIRE/ Flag and class is a must.

**Requirements**:

- Degree in Marine Engineering
- Holding a valid COC of Chief Engineer.
- Previous sailing experience of minimum 8-10 years.
- Tanker Experience would be a plus
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Coordination and commit to deadlines.
- Willing to proactively work with minimum supervision.
