**Marine Technical Superintendent**
- To assist technical manager in day to day running of vessels.
- To work closely with port captain in all aspects of safety and Pollution prevention.
- Assist in establishing and setting maintenance standards of the company managed vessels in compliance with the company’s SMS guidelines;
- Monitoring of the PMS system and ensuring monthly review/ verification of maintenance preformed, Monthly engine reports, Monthly engine job plan, inventories of spares and stores on board
- Ensuring the validity of vessels statutory and trading certificates and updating them routinely;
- To undertake tech inspection of Company Vessels as per company inspection schedule or as ordered by Technical Manager from time to time.
- Be present on board vessels during refits, repairs, services and supervise performance of the jobs by vendors in accordance with the LPOs.

Check work completion/work measurement for each job and assist chief engineer. Signing of the work done certificate/service report ;
- Carry out vetting /concurring/approving orders for material, spare parts, Services, repairs on other requirements from the vessels; within the approved budgetary parameters;
- To provide technical support to Port captain and arranging corrective actions based on deficiency reports received from the vessels relating to incidents, accidents and Near misses;
Assist in preparing scope of work for repairs, surveys; special surveys & dry-docking etc;
- Assist technical manager in preparation of annual operational budget.
- Assist in reviewing/evaluating tender from the different dockyards and putting up to HOD Tech for management approval;
- Assist in controlling budget and expenses for the vessels;
- Monitoring due dates for all surveys and inspections and ensuring that these are carried out prior to the due dates;
- Investigation of major machinery failures and follow up of any resulting insurance claims and promulgate safety bulletins to the vessels on machinery failures;
- Assist Chief Engineers in any queries related to machinery, equipment and systems on board;
- Assist in maintenance of historic records of all vessel repairs;
- Train engine room crew and assist the engine room crew in overhaul of machinery,
- Running of machinery; particularly on aspects of safe working and pollution control measures;
- To ensure deficient spares/store are replenished on all vessels;
- To evaluate & maintain records of engine running hours, & Fuel/lube oil consumption and other parameters like economical speed etc;
- To keep technical manager updated on machinery spaces and machinery condition;
- To supply after due evaluation trained shore personnel, to assist Chief Engineers for repairs & maintenance of machinery, electrical system etc; if so requested by the chief engineer;
- Interview Chief engineer, Second engineer and Other engine Officers prior recruitment to check their suitability and verify their experience;
- To carry out familiarisation of all new Chief engineer’s, who are first time joiners to the company /vessel;
- To carry out briefing / debriefing of all Chief engineer’s during sign on/off.
- To review the HO/TO reports of Chief engineer’s and approve sign on /off.
- To carry out performance evaluation of all engine department personnel (including C/E) and maintain the records.
- To prepare vessels for client inspection and attend all client inspections of company vessels and assist Technical Manager to close out the punch list;
- To liaise with client/charterer to resolve any technical issues to ensure smooth operation of the vessels;
- Take over as Chief engineer of any company vessels as directed by Management;
- Carry out any other task as assigned by management from time to time.

**Salary**: From AED7,500.00 per month
