Urgently looking for an Indian Commis Chef with Tandoori and Indian cuisine experience.

**GENERAL SUMMARY**

A commis chef’s role is to ensure that the daily requirements of the kitchen are met, from food production to cleanliness and food safety. Commis report to the Chef De Parties and are responsible for ensuring that all directions are followed to meet the work load for the day. As a junior member of the Kitchen team, you also have the responsibility to learn and develop your skills daily to ensure efficiency and potential for growth

**MAIN DUTIES**:

- Complete opening and closing checklist as required per section of the kitchen
- Refer to or develop Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties.
- Prepare food items as per the recipes of the kitchen in line with direction and training by the senior chefs
- Understand and compile consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
- Ensure that food portions are accurate prior to cooking or serving according to recipe specifications.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, walls grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment.
- Assist in the closure of the kitchen and follow the closing checklist for kitchen stations.
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement.
- Promptly report equipment and food quality problems to Kitchen Manager.
- Assist the senior chefs with ensuing that all food items and kitchen requirements are ordered and stocked as per the requirement of the business
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or manager-on-duty.
