**Job Summary**:
The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for organizing and managing the transportation of goods, materials, and personnel. This role involves planning and coordinating transport schedules, ensuring compliance with regulations, maintaining vehicle records, and optimizing transportation routes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Transportation Planning**:
1. Plan and coordinate transportation schedules and routes for the timely and efficient delivery of goods and materials.

2. Arrange for the transportation of personnel as needed, ensuring safe and punctual travel.

**Coordination and Communication**:
1. Communicate with drivers, suppliers, and customers to coordinate pickup and delivery times.

2. Serve as a point of contact for any transportation-related inquiries or issues.

**Fleet Management**:
1. Maintain records of all vehicles, including registration, maintenance, and inspection records.

2. Schedule and oversee regular vehicle maintenance and repairs to ensure safety and reliability.

**Compliance and Safety**:
1. Ensure all transportation activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including safety and environmental standards.

2. Conduct safety briefings and training sessions for drivers and transportation staff.

**Route Optimization**:
1. Analyze transportation routes and schedules to identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.

2. Implement route optimization strategies to enhance efficiency and minimize fuel consumption.

**Inventory and Documentation**:
1. Maintain accurate records of shipments, deliveries, and transportation activities.

2. Prepare and submit reports on transportation performance, costs, and any issues encountered.

**Vendor and Supplier Management**:
1. Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to negotiate transportation rates and services.

2. Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers to ensure quality service.

**Problem Solving**:
1. Address and resolve any transportation-related issues or delays promptly.

2. Implement contingency plans to handle transportation disruptions and emergencies.

**Customer Service**:
1. Provide excellent customer service by ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods.

2. Address any customer complaints or concerns regarding transportation services.

**Team Collaboration**:
1. Work closely with other departments, such as procurement, warehousing, and sales, to coordinate transportation needs.

2. Support the logistics team in achieving overall operational goals.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics, transportation, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in transportation coordination or a similar role.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Proficiency in using transportation management software and other relevant tools.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

**Working Conditions**:
