We are urgently hiring a Chief Officer to work with our marine shipping company. As the Chief Officer on board a bulk carrier ship, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.

**Responsibilities**
- Oversee the navigation of the ship, ensure compliance with international and local maritime regulations.
- Responsible for the navigation of the vessel as required.
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Deck / Bridge Department.
- Assist in mooring/unmooring operations, securing decks for proceeding to sea, and allowing for the possibility of heavy weather.
- Supervise the loading, stowing, and discharging of cargo to ensure proper distribution and stability of the vessel.
- Monitor cargo handling equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards during loading and unloading operations.
- Maintain records of cargo parameters, soundings of ballast tanks, and other spaces.
- Responsible for the planning and organisation of the deck crew and of all anchor handling equipment.
- Crew management: Lead and supervise a team of deck officers, able seamen, and other crew members.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide training and support for professional development.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of the vessel and its equipment.
- Responsible for the planning and execution of safety training and emergency drill schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of navigational activities, cargo operations, and crew movements.
- Prepare reports for regulatory authorities and communicate with shore-based management as needed.

**Qualifications, Skills and Requirements**
- Bachelors or Masters in any relevant degree
- Holds a valid Chief Mate (Unlimited) or Master Mariner license issued by a recognized maritime authority.
- **Extensive experience sailing on bulk carrier ships, preferably in a leadership role. (at least 1-3 years)**:

- Knowledge of international maritime regulations, navigation techniques, and cargo handling procedures.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a diverse crew.
- Proficiency in the use of navigation equipment, communication systems, and computer software relevant to maritime operations.
