Hartland International School seeks to appoint a Head of Secondary to support our expansion and provision across this phase of the school.

**Our School**

The school which opened in September 2015, has already established a reputation for excellence in learning, teaching and leadership in the region. Our student body consists of just over 1,400 students from nearly 90 nationalities, making Hartland a truly international community where a strong blend of academic challenge, enrichment opportunities and pastoral support for all, targets and inspires excellence. All that we do is underpinned by a values-based family community of teachers, children and parents providing the best possible education for every child in our care.

This academic year sees our first cohort of Year 13 students come through the school and GCSE results this summer saw 22% of all grades being judged at Grade 9, A*, with 67% judged 9 - 7, A*/A and 86% graded 9 - 6, A*-B.

**The Post**

At this time, we are seeking to appoint a Head of Secondary to lead a very experienced and committed team of staff and students. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to work alongside the rest of the Senior Leadership Team in shaping the provision and practice in this part of a whole school environment. Applications are invited from suitably qualified practitioners who are passionate and forward thinking and who will thrive in the vibrant learning environment of Hartland. Integral to this role is the willingness to be part of a team who are committed to the through nature of the school and as such, you will share in the responsibility for teaching, learning, and pastoral care. You will provide leadership and advice to staff, students and parents. As a key member of the Leadership Team you will be someone who can thrive on the challenge of growing a school and community. Above all you will do this in a visible leadership style that will influence, support, challenge and inspire excellence in others.
- Hold a relevant degree and teaching qualification
- Have experience of teaching the National Curriculum for England, that be in the UK or in an international setting
- Have a minimum 3 years senior leadership experience in a high performing school
- Have exceptional communication and personal skills, demonstrating flexibility, resilience and energy to thrive in a dynamic international environment
- Be committed to the Hartland Values which can be found on our website
