Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized, compassionate, and customer-focused **Patient Coordinator** to join our team at Our Clinic. The Patient Coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience from the moment they enter the clinic until their care is completed. This role will involve a combination of administrative, clinical, and customer service duties, all aimed at providing a positive and seamless experience for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:

- Patient Scheduling & Appointment Management:

- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
- Coordinate with medical providers to ensure appropriate time allocation for consultations and treatments.
- Maintain accurate records of appointments and follow-up care.
- Patient Intake & Registration:

- Greet patients upon arrival, ensure they complete all necessary forms, and collect relevant personal and medical information.
- Assist patients in understanding clinic procedures, policies, and services.
- Customer Service & Communication:

- Provide clear and empathetic communication to patients regarding appointment scheduling, insurance inquiries, and general clinic information.
- Address patient concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, escalating to management when necessary.
- Insurance Verification & Billing Support:

- Verify patient insurance information and communicate any billing-related concerns to patients.
- Assist patients with understanding their coverage, payment responsibilities, and available payment plans.
- Medical Records & Documentation:

- Maintain and update patient records in our electronic health system (EHR).
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with relevant healthcare regulations.
- Collaboration with Clinical Team:

- Work closely with medical providers and support staff to ensure that patient care is coordinated and that all necessary pre-appointment or follow-up actions are completed.

Qualifications:

- Education:

- High School Diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., healthcare administration) is a plus.
- Experience:

- At least 1-2 years of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting, ideally with exposure to patient coordination or customer service roles.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems is preferred.
- Skills & Competencies:

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.
- Knowledge of insurance verification and billing processes is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with EHR software.
