**Job description**:
**About the role**
The Trader will develop and sustain a profitable trading desk whilst integrating current oil & petroleum clients, coordinating bids/offers and trades with energy merchandising and Logistics / Operations desks. Working closely with the international business development team, you will identify potential new customer offerings and trade structures.

This role will run an active trading book and manage daily trading P&L of the Oil & Petroleum trading book through active management of physical inventory and hedging tools.

In conjunction, the trader will develop new business opportunities with potential suppliers and customers, sourcing and selling opportunities to the local and regional markets. Additionally, you will look to develop and implement trading strategies of term contracts, managing risk and performance, in line with the group’s guidelines. The role will require creative thinking and independent research to fulfil the groups consulting mandate as well as participating in ad-hoc projects.
