- Preparing food items following the facility's menu
- Tallying orders and ensuring guests or residents receive the correct quantity of food for their individual needs
- Inputting information about dietary changes
- Using a calculator or software program to determine dietary requirements for individual residents in a health care facility
- Preparing food stations and setting up trays and utensils before meals
- Cleaning and maintaining a safe kitchen space
