**Job Title: Quantity Surveyor**

**Overview**:
**Responsibilities**:

- **Cost Estimation**: Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects based on thorough analysis of project requirements, specifications, and relevant cost data. Utilize industry-standard methods and software to develop detailed cost breakdowns and pricing schedules.
- **Budget Management**: Develop and manage project budgets throughout the project lifecycle, tracking expenditures, forecasting costs, and ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints. Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering solutions where applicable.
- **Quantity Takeoff**: Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and measurements for various project elements, including materials, labor, and equipment. Verify quantities against project drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- **Contract Administration**: Administer project contracts, including reviewing and negotiating contract terms, preparing tender documents, and evaluating contractor bids. Manage contract variations, claims, and disputes, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- **Cost Control**: Implement effective cost control measures to monitor project expenditures, identify variances, and mitigate financial risks. Regularly review project costs against budgetary targets and provide timely reports to project stakeholders.
- **Value Engineering**: Collaborate with project teams to identify value engineering opportunities and cost optimization strategies. Evaluate alternative design and construction solutions to achieve project objectives while minimizing costs and maintaining quality standards.
- **Risk Management**: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks related to cost, schedule, and quality. Develop risk management plans and contingency measures to address potential threats and ensure project success.
- **Client Liaison**: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on cost-related matters, providing regular updates, cost reports, and budget forecasts. Address client inquiries, requests for information, and concerns in a professional and timely manner.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Professional certification (RICS, PQS, or similar) is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in quantity surveying roles, with a focus on consultancy projects in the UAE construction industry.
- Thorough understanding of construction cost management principles, techniques, and practices.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Candy, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to perform accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, contractors, and project teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with UAE construction regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
