- **Scope of Responsibilities**
Commercial Manager will be responsible for providing high quality support services in construction claims, commercial or contractual advisory services to Petrocontracts clients. Commercial Manager will be part of Petrocontracts quantum assessment and contract management team and will be accountable for the delivery of project task / commission ensuring commercial and quality outcomes, whilst strengthening client relationships.
- **Skills and Experience**
Ideally Commercial Manager will possess the following skills and experience:
- Industry experience as a contracts engineer, quantity surveyor, cost engineer or project manager with project commercial management experience
- Must possess extensive experience on claims, claims management and cost analysis in construction industry.
- Experience working in quantum and delay claims assessment matters.
- Exposure to quantum analysis principles used in the construction industry and must have sound fundamentals in prolongation, disruption and general costs claims as part of claims submission process.
- Negotiation Skills.
- High degree of articulation and excellent use of the English language in written and spoken form
- **Primary Duties**
Commercial Manager is responsible for the complex review and analysis of project documentation and schedules, and the generation of reports and presentations for internal and client meetings.
Central to the success of this role is a deep understanding of project / contract scope of work, terms & conditions, schedule and commercial aspects, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and knowledge of client / contractor means and methods on a variety of different types of jobs (i.e., energy, oil & gas, petrochemicals, refineries, water & wastewater treatment, buildings, power, etc.).
- **Role accountabilities**:
- Analyze or prepare complex construction quantum, delay/disruption/acceleration and cost claims, with responsibility for the entire assignment on smaller claims, or acting as a lead on larger claims.
- Prepare reports, present findings to clients and assist in claim negotiations with opposing parties.
- Perform construction schedule reviews for ongoing projects and provide opinions, advice and reports on project progress and forecasts.
- Attend management review meetings with clients and its clients (as applicable) and take lead role in presenting the claims management strategy and outcome / recommendations for all claims managed by Commercial Manager.
- Manage assignments and deliver profitable results within planned budget & time.
- Support and execute business development strategies to identify and deliver construction claims opportunities and engagements.
- Establish and maintain professional business relations with clients.
- **Key Attributes**:
- Knowledge and ability to quickly understand construction contracts, and principals of client means and methods.
- Experience on large, complex construction projects
- Commercial contracts experience.
- Exceptional written and verbal communications, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Negotiation Skills.
- Self-motivated achiever.
- Leadership/Supervisory experience and team working skills.
- **Physical Effort and Work Environment**:
- Duties performed mostly at Home Office and Site.
- Certain tasks and functions are carried out in air-conditioned office environment.
