UAE, United Arab Emirates Aldar Academies Full time

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Two-year diploma degree in Special Education or/ Education or/ to have a high school diploma with a Special Education training program

**Minimum Experience**
- 2 years SEN experience

**Job Specific Knowledge & Skills**
- Fluent English communication skills, written and oral
- Strong interpersonal skills to aid in daily contact with parents in a diverse multi-cultural environment
- Excellent office management skills
- Respect for all members of a school community, irrespective of position, gender, age, and ethnic background.
- A positive and solution-focused attitude to working life.

**Main Duties**
- To consider the student/s’ special needs and ensure their access to the lesson and its content through appropriate clarification, explanations, equipment and materials.
- To develop an understanding of the Special Educational Needs of the student/s concerned.
- To build and maintain successful relationships with student(s), treat them consistently, with respect and consideration.

**Specific Duties**
- To develop knowledge of the needs of the children and seek advice from the SENCo, class teacher and SEN Teacher as required.
- Listening to teachers and parents about the academic and behaviour to provide learning support for pupil(s) in class or in 1:1 situations.
- To aid access to the full range of learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom and provide modified materials as required e.g. worksheets, games, visual prompt cards etc.
- To make or modify resources as suggested and advised by the SENCo, school counsellor or other outside agencies.
- Provide positive reinforcements, praise and rewards to pupils, implement, monitor, and provided data regarding student’s behaviour plan.
- Facilitate inclusion in small group activities with peers and support interaction between them.
- To attend in service training and relevant meetings relevant to the post in order to keep up to date with developments in working with children with special educational needs.
- To provide regular feedback to the SENCo and, where necessary, relevant outside agencies about any pupil’s difficulties, progress and attendance.
- To contribute to the pupils’ annual review by writing a brief report and attending the meeting.
- To foster links between home and school.
- To maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the pupils’ needs but have regard to the safeguarding procedures of the school.
- To carry out duties as directed by the SENCo or SEN Teacher
- Undertake other duties from time to time as the principal requires
