Recreational Therapist

**Introduction**: Our client provides rehabilitation care services in UAE and KSA. They offer specialized hospital setup and medical care to patients needing short-term rehabilitation or long-term care for chronic illness or injury. The UAE facilities in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi are large villa complexes modified to provide hospital care with dedicated rehabilitation and supporting services, spacious gardens, and outdoor recreational space.

**Description**:

- Organizing therapy sessions to interact with patients and offer recommendations for physical and mental wellness;
- Developing and implementing rehabilitation programs to help patients adjust to a disability or illness;
- Ensuring treatment plans are suitable for patients’ physical condition and are in accordance with their preferences ;
- Provide highly specialist knowledge and skills for specialist seating, splinting and other postural support aids;
- Monitor and keep track of the patient’s progress to modify the treatment program as necessary;
- Obtain and review patient’s medical records to assess patients abilities, interests, and needs;
- Provide health tips to patients and their families on leisure activities and lifestyle changes necessary for improved health conditions;
- Organize and lead patients in recreational activities such as art, sports, music or dance;
- Liaise with other health care professionals to plan and evaluate therapy programs;
- Help patients develop skills useful in participating in leisure exercises;
- Maintain accurate record of patient information, treatment program and recovery progress;
- Prepare and present reports to the treatment team to highlight patient's response to therapy;
**Who are you**: You are a dedicated healthcare professional, who helps our patients recover from various illnesses through interactive recreational programs. You are responsible for building unique therapeutic relationships with clients and assisting them with fun exercises and other therapeutic activities for their illnesses. You will work directly with patients through therapeutic activities and treatment to help them recover from a variety of injuries and illnesses.

**Skills & Competencies**:

- Excellent communication skills in English, added advantage of bilingual English and Arabic;
- Proven work experience as a Recreational Therapist or similar role
- Multi-tasking abilities;
- Ability to remain objective and decisive in difficult situations
- Expert assessment skills;
- Strong organizational abilities.

**Education & Qualifications**:

- Recognized Bachelor or Diploma in Recreational Therapy or related course;
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience in recreational therapy work in a medical / healthcare setting;
- Valid license or eligibility in the home country, UAE license is an advantage;
