**Job Summary**
The Demi Chef de Partie is responsible for preparing pastry items according to established recipes and maintaining the highest quality standards. You will play a crucial role in our mission to provide delectable and healthy meal options to our valued customers. You will work closely with our Executive Chef and a team of culinary professionals to craft an array of mouthwatering pastries, desserts, and baked products.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Prepare a variety of pastry items, desserts, and baked products according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef or the Culinary Director and other team members to plan and execute the daily production schedule, ensuring that orders are completed in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, always following proper hygiene and food safety standards.
- Assist in the development and creation of new pastry products, contributing innovative ideas to enhance our menu offerings.
- Ensure that all pastry items meet Delicut’s standards for taste, texture, and presentation.
- Handle the ordering and monitoring of pastry ingredients and supplies and maintain proper inventory levels to prevent shortages.
- Actively participate in regular training sessions and workshops to further develop pastry skills and stay updated on industry trends.
- Support and mentor junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Adhere to kitchen policies and procedures to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
**Requirements**:
- **Culinary Education**:A diploma or certification in pastry is a plus.
- **Experience**: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Demi Chef De Partie in a pastry department.
- **Skills**: Proficiency in using kitchen equipment and tools related to the pastry department.
- **Hygiene and Safety**: Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices.
- **Team Player**: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, taking direction from the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
- **Communication**: Good verbal communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
- **Physical Stamina**:Being able to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- **Adaptability**: Flexibility to work with changing menus and shifts. Creative and innovative approach to pastry preparation and presentation.
**Qualifications**:
- **Proven experience working as a Demi Chef de Partie - Pastry department in a professional kitchen.**:
- A diploma or certification in pastry is a plus with a minimum of 1 year experience in similar role and department.**Working Conditions**:
- **Work Environment**:The central kitchen is a fast-paced and high-stress environment, especially during peak meal production times. Demi Chefs de Partie should be prepared to work in a hot and sometimes crowded kitchen, with various kitchen equipment and appliances in operation.
- **Physical Demands**:The role can be physically demanding, requiring standing for extended periods, lifting heavy pots and pans, and continuous repetitive tasks. Proper footwear and protective clothing are essential for comfort and safety.
- **Safety Measures**: Adherence to strict safety and hygiene protocols is mandatory. This includes the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves and aprons, as well as adherence to food safety guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of both staff and consumers.
- **Teamwork**:The kitchen operates as a team, and communication and collaboration with other kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants, are vital for a smooth workflow.
- **Temperature**:The kitchen environment can be hot, so it's essential for Demi Chef de Parties to be accustomed to working in a warm and potentially humid setting.
- **Pressure**: The kitchen often experiences high-pressure situations, especially during meal plan delivery times. Demi Chef de Parties need to maintain focus, stay organized, and handle stress effectively to meet production goals.
