Tearista/tea Sommelier

We are looking for a Tearista/Tea Sommelier to join our fast-growing specialized bakery team in Al Quoz, Dubai, UAE to support our retail, dine-in, catering and wholesale operations.

**As a tearista or tea sommelier, the duties and responsibilities typically include**:
1. Expert Knowledge: Demonstrate a deep understanding of various tea types, including their origins, processing methods, flavor profiles, and brewing techniques.
2. Customer Service: Provide personalized recommendations to customers based on their preferences, guiding them through the tea selection process and offering insights into different tea varieties.
3. Menu Development: Curate and develop tea menus, incorporating diverse offerings such as loose-leaf teas, specialty blends, herbal infusions, and tea-based beverages.
4. Tea Preparation: Prepare and serve tea using proper brewing methods, ensuring consistency in taste, aroma, and presentation.
5. Tasting Events: Organize and conduct tea tasting events, workshops, and educational sessions to educate customers and enhance their appreciation for tea culture.
6. Sales and Upselling: Drive sales by promoting tea products, accessories, and related merchandise, and upselling premium tea offerings or specialty blends.
7. Quality Control: Maintain high standards of tea quality, freshness, and storage conditions, ensuring that teas are stored properly to preserve flavor and aroma.
8. Inventory Management: Monitor tea inventory levels, replenish stock as needed, and track tea sales and consumption patterns to optimize inventory management.
9. Customer Engagement: Foster positive customer experiences by engaging with customers, addressing inquiries, providing tea-related information, and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
10. Training and Education: Provide training to staff members on tea knowledge, brewing techniques, and customer service best practices, empowering them to deliver exceptional tea experiences.
11. Cultural Appreciation: Share insights into the cultural and historical significance of tea, including its rituals, traditions, and ceremonies, to enrich the customer experience.
12. Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, new tea varieties, and emerging tea markets through ongoing education, research, and participation in tea-related events and conferences.
**Requirements**:
- Diploma / Certification in Hospitality Management or equivalent or experience in lieu
- **3-5 years’ experience as a Tearista or Tea Sommelier**:
- **Passionate about the art of service and ability to bring ideas and handle issues with guests**:
- **Desire to learn, contribute and grow with the brand**:
- Strong attention to detail and engagement with guests and talks about the Tea and the product
- Good communication skills and strong leadership skills. This position will require daily communication and hand off to the next shift for smooth operation and to meet the brand’s high-quality standards.
