Bilingual Librarian

**Job Type**: Full Time

**Location**: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

**Job Role**:

- Selecting, developing, ordering, cataloging of Library resources and liaising with School Librarians.
- Keeping up to date with new releases to be able to recommend books to school Librarians.
- Develop rapport and good working relationship with Publishers and school Librarians.
- Assisting with author visits, book fairs, other events for school Librarians to promote the use of the library and reading culture.

**Skills Required**:

- Good level of knowledge of school curriculums
- Good level of knowledge of current library information technologies (Marc Records are not available for Arabic books)
- Knowledge of standard library procedures, reference materials and library resources.
- Knowledge of Arabic children’s literature
- Knowledge of the Dewey Decimal classification scheme.
- Outstanding organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent IT skills, proficiency in MS Office

**Qualifications & Experience Required**:

- Native Arabic speaker.
- Bachelor’s degree in library and information science is preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar position, ideally in an educational or library setting.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Dubai: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)
