**Pastry Preparation**:
Responsibilities of a Pastry Commis with Croissant Experience
- Assist in the preparation and production of a variety of pastries, with a focus on croissants.
- Follow recipes and instructions from the pastry chef accurately.
- Ensure all ingredients are measured and mixed correctly.
**Dough Handling**:
- Prepare and laminate croissant dough, including proper folding and rolling techniques.
- Monitor dough consistency and make adjustments as needed.
- Ensure dough is proofed and baked to perfection.
**Baking**:
- Operate ovens and other baking equipment properly and safely.
- Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure consistent results.
- Adjust oven settings and baking conditions based on pastry requirements.
**Quality Control**:
- Maintain high standards of quality and presentation for all pastries.
- Conduct regular checks to ensure the taste, texture, and appearance of croissants meet quality standards.
- Implement corrective actions for any deviations from quality standards.
**Sanitation and Safety**:
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage practices.
- Clean and sanitize equipment and utensils regularly.
**Inventory Management**:
- Assist in managing inventory levels of ingredients and supplies.
- Report any shortages or issues to the pastry chef.
- Assist in ordering and receiving supplies as needed.
**Collaboration**:
- Work closely with the pastry team to ensure smooth operations.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other kitchen staff.
- Assist in training new staff or interns as required.
Requirements for a Pastry Commis with Croissant Experience
- Previous experience in a bakery or pastry kitchen, specifically with croissant preparation and baking.
- Familiarity with dough lamination and croissant-making techniques.
