**Responsibilities**:

- Supporting and liaising closely with Vice Principal, SLT, HOD’s, TL & Inclusion Lead. Areas of Responsibility
- Participate in the ongoing review of proposed programs to assess their effectiveness and alignment with current district initiatives.
- Facilitates curriculum development centered on the district school improvement initiatives.
- Facilitates curriculum mapping and the development of a progressive curriculum for SAIS
- Facilitate the selection of textbooks and resource materials.
- Responsible for the preparation of the High School Course of Study and various reports as needed
- Uses organizational strategy to build a coherent plan for school improvement.
- Analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum and teaching methods.
- Ensure that the school curriculum is aligned with CA-CCSS, CA-NGSS, and California Education Framework
- Ensure effective curriculum deployment in lessons and through school extra-curricular activities
- Promote and develop effective use of the school curriculum database “ATLAS”
- Exhibits a knowledgeable, passionate, and enthusiastic commitment to continuous student improvement with a focus on the school's instructional priorities.
- Attend all instructional committee meetings and SLT meetings.
- Plan and organize regular meetings with principals and vice principals to coordinate a unified curriculum.
- Oversees state testing programs and analyzes the results of these tests.
- Provides constant and ongoing evaluations of teaching standards including annual updates and revisions.
- Ensures that all curricula comply with UAE, and ADEK policies including SOD, Gifted and Talented legislation, and remedial learning legislation; identifies students who may be impacted by these programs.
- Report to the principal regarding benchmarks, instructional management data & progress toward meeting expected attainment levels and beyond.
- Coordinate the recommendation, development, implementation, and evaluation of all instructional school improvement, curriculum, & instruction.
- Respond to public inquiries about curriculum and instruction.
- Perform other duties or services as required.

**Other**:

- Follow, support & help to develop SAIS aims, Vision, improvement plans, policies, and practices.
- Support ASP & events as required.
- Undertake other professional duties as reasonably delegated by the principal (teaching, break duties, exam invigilation, detention and another cover, after-school duty, ADEK formalities etc).
- Organize & attend committees as reasonably delegated by the principal.
- Inform the principal of resource and training needs.
- Attend/lead PD/INSET relating to personal/school targets related to JD.
- Meet deadlines as requested by principal/vice principal
- Promote effective teamwork across the whole school.
- Promote SAIS positively with community while maintaining complete confidentiality.
- Respect local culture, customs, and laws.
- Promote & model SAIS Core Values.
