Secondary Headteacher

Kings’ Education is currently seeking an outstanding and inspiring Secondary Headteacher / Vice Principal with a proven track record of successful leadership for their flagship 3-18 campus, Kings’ School Al Barsha, from August 2024 (negotiable). **Responsibilities**
- Shared strategic direction and leadership of a prestigious secondary campus in the heart of Dubai
- Strategic direction and leadership of significant elements of ongoing school improvement based on rigorous data informed self-evaluation
- Operational and financial efficiency and accountability for specified areas of the school
- Provide inspiring and transformational leadership for all members of the school community
- Promote safe, secure, and inclusive learning environments for all stakeholders
- Promote the highest standards of student achievement and learning behaviours to ensure exceptional outcomes for all
- Monitor and evaluate all performance aspects of the secondary school including the quality of learning and teaching
- Continue to develop a culture of high performance and high expectations, where all staff and students feel valued, respected and empowered to perform at their best
- Positively promote the school, raising its profile both locally and internationally

**Essential Qualifications & Experience**:

- Qualified Teacher Status and a relevant first degree with teaching experience essential
- Master’s in Education / NPQH or similar level qualification essential
- A minimum of 12 years’ experience in education
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in secondary senior leadership
- Evidence of sustained personal, professional development in education leadership and management
- Evidence of maximising the potential of all students, including those with special educational needs and talents, creatively seeking high standards and achievement
- Experience of leading and managing a secondary school in the UK, Dubai or the UAE
- Commitment to the professional development of all staff, including delegation of responsibility where appropriate and possible
- Commitment to the central role of equality of opportunity both in employment practices and in the formulation and implementation of school policies, with regard to all young people, families and staff members
- Demonstrate a commitment to the Kings’ vision and values

**Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Thorough knowledge and understanding of child development, relevant legislation, curricular issues, and implications of curriculum changes in the English and UK Education system
- Knowledge and understanding of the English National Curriculum, principles of assessment and the effective use of data analysis to promote the educational and personal development of students
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and current educational developments in the UK and/or the UAE, with particular reference to Dubai
- An understanding of the skills needed to lead in a climate of constant change
- A thorough understanding of whole-school self-evaluation, with a particular reference to either Ofsted and/or the DSIB inspection framework
- Knowledge and understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion practices
- Experience in operational and financial efficiency and accountability
- Ability to foster a supportive, emotionally intelligent and caring environment for all stakeholders
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences
- Ability to balance priorities and resources effectively within time constraints
- Ability to develop and maintain positive and effective relationships with all stakeholders
- Ability to empower and positively influence those you work with, valuing the achievements of others
