- Assist in the co-ordination of organizational and administrative functions in all areas of the food and beverage department.
- Assist in planning and implementing programs, policies and procedures to ensure that SNH standards met.
- Ensure that the departmental objectives are cascaded to the colleagues.
- Assist in establishing standards of performance and job descriptions of service colleagues.
- Assist in the co-ordination of special promotions and provide administrative support as necessary.
- Participate in public relations activities, sales calls or other promotional activities designed at enhancing the image and profitability of the hotel.
- Provide creative ideas to project and enhance the image of the hotel.
- Ensure up to date hard copies of department SOPs maintained at all times.
- Communicate new or amended procedures to relevant departments/colleagues in a timely manner and ensure they have understood.
- Maintain appropriate records of education, training, skills and experience.
- Provide constant coaching, counselling and discipline to colleagues to ensure their capability to meet the needs of the customer and the organization.
- Ensure manning and competence level of selected colleagues is sufficient for the department to meet the needs of the organization and its customers.
- Evaluate the performance of staff.
- Discuss with the client (in person, by phone or by correspondence) the further details pertaining to proposed functions, menu, budget, beverage and miscellaneous arrangements so that all information pertaining to the event is received by the hotel to ensure that we are able to provide the requirements that have been requested.
- Prepare yearly food and beverages budget and monthly forecast.
- Determine with the finance director the minimum and maximum stocks of all food, beverages, materials and equipment.
- Demonstrate complete understanding and awareness and adhere to all company policies and procedures as well as the company’s emergency and evacuation procedures.
- Comply with the company’s corporate code of conduct.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Provide courteous and professional service at all times.
- Respond to changes as dictated by the Industry, company and/or hotel.
