Medical Insurance Coordinator

Job Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately code medical diagnoses, procedures, and services using ICD-10, CPT, and other relevant coding systems.
- Review and verify patients' medical records and coding to ensure completeness and compliance with insurance requirements.
- Submit claims to insurance companies and handle follow-ups on outstanding claims.
- Coordinate and communicate with insurance companies regarding approvals, rejections, and discrepancies.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with UAE healthcare regulations and insurance policies.
- Resolve denied claims and appeals by providing the necessary documentation and corrections.
- Work closely with medical staff to ensure accuracy in coding and documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and analysis related to billing, coding, and insurance coordination.
- Stay updated with changes in coding guidelines, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations in the UAE.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Medical Coding, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Medical Coder and Insurance Coordinator in a hospital/clinic setting.
- Extensive knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and UAE-specific coding systems.
- Experience dealing with various insurance companies and their claim processes in the UAE.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, billing processes, and insurance policies.
- Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks under pressure.
- Proficiency in medical coding software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Umm Al Quwain: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)
