**ROLE PURPOSE:
The role holder will support on the roll out of all carbon, energy and sustainability initiatives and programs across Abu Dhabi Airports. They will assist in the development of the stakeholder network and promote the sustainability culture throughout the airport eco system to identify shared value and achieve our long-term goals and ambitions.

**- Primary Relations: Commercial team, Facility Management, Capital and Construction Projects, Marketing, and communications.
- Secondary Relations: Other non-operational Departments across Abu Dhabi Airports
All local, regional, and national entities pertinent to both aviation and sustainability.
- Key stakeholders working within the airport campus and aviation sector within the UAE.**KEY ACCCOUNTABILITIES
- Develop and execute sustainability initiatives that contribute to the Abu Dhabi Airports sustainability strategy.
- Lead research and analysis to develop corporate sustainability strategies to ensure that business practices, products and services are environmentally friendly and complaint with local, national and international regulations.- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure sustainability activities and initiatives are implemented and not limited to water consumption, energy consumption, waste management, air pollution, and carbon emission reduction.
- Ability to promote and explain Abu Dhabi Airports Sustainability Strategy to audiences of all levels.
- Proven track record in reducing carbon emissions, through implementation of processes and procedures, in another similar organization.- Ensure that project/ department goals and milestones are met through adhering to approved budgets and initiative timeframes.
- Creating plans for reducing the organization’s carbon footprint through conservation measures such as recycling, using green technology, and installing solar panels on buildings.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on metrics to track progress towards goals such as greenhouse gas emissions reduction, waste reduction or water conservation goals.
- Developing strategies to promote the circular economy and increase landfill diversion rates within the airport eco system.
- Ensure that all sustainability policies and procedures, including recycling programs, alternative energy use, and
- water conservation efforts, are up to date and easily accessible.- Monitoring and reporting on environmental impacts of company operations and making recommendations
- for improvement.

**QUALIFICATION / EDUCATION
**-
Professional qualifications in at least one globally recognized green building certification scheme.
- Chartered Environmentalist or Engineer with a globally recognized organization, such IEMA or Energy Institute.- Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Advanced PowerPoint and presentation skills.
- Desktop publishing and graphic design experience is a plus.

**EXPERIENCE
**- At least 5-8 years’ experience specifically in the field of sustainability working in-house for a corporate or for a large international consultancy firm (1-3 years of supervisory experience).

**KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
**Knowledge**
- Global sustainability certification and reporting systems, and best practice standards.
- Technical ability in relation to data analysis and carbon foot printing.
- Feasibility studies for low carbon technologies and initiatives
- Conducting technical assessment and producing reports on the findings.
- Evaluation of emissions factors. Including waste disposal and resource use and recommending associated improvements.- Training staff on new protocols and assessing program effectiveness.

**Skills**
- **Communication**: ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders, including senior management, staff, suppliers, and customers. Highly developed verbal and written communication skills are required to convey complex information, develop strategies, and explain the benefits of sustainability initiatives.**Project management**:Ability to oversee large projects; responsible for ensuring the project is completed on time and within budget. Project management skills can include planning, organizing, tracking, and reporting.

**Data analysis**:Ability to use data to make informed decisions about the company’s environmental impact and how to reduce it. Data analysis skills allow you to interpret data and understand its implications. Create reports to assist tracking progress toward sustainability goals.
