The OT Clerk plans and coordinates OT operations involving but not limited to scheduling patient procedures, ensuring maximum room utilization, handling sudden changes in surgery bookings. He/she must ensure day to day scheduled procedures in OT are systematic and well organized.

**Key Responsibilities**

Functions and duties include but are not limited to the following:
**Manage surgical schedule**:
A. Communicate with patients for confirmation of date & time of procedure.

B. Scrutinizes & confirms insurance approval.

C. Regulate doctor's hours based on their availability.

D. Makes sure all surgical timings and procedures are in accordance with related policy and procedures.

E. Ensures maximum utilization of all operating rooms at all times.

F. Makes sure pre anesthesia consultation are conducted on all patients.

G. Ensures availability of all necessary equipment and supplies on every surgical procedure.

H. Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team

I. Ensures open communication between nurses, surgeons, anesthesiologists and all other members of the healthcare team.

J. Relays all information pertaining to daily operating schedule with all relevant departments.

K. Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.

L. Demonstrate high level of interpersonal relationship and organizational skills.

**Documentation**

A. Keeps a tracker on all surgical procedures conducted including the cancellations (with reasons).

B. Provides administrative support to the OT team.

C. Conducts regular evaluation and feedback on patients’ perioperative experience.

D. Conducts regular evaluation and feedback on all members of the healthcare team.

E. Demonstrate skills on the use of computer

F. Demonstrate commitment to quality improvement

G. Prompt submission of accurate required documentation and mandatory reports.

H. Demonstrate ability to function effectively under pressure

**Salary**: AED3,000.00 - AED3,500.00 per month
