**Job Summary**:
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) is responsible for maintaining and promoting a positive image of the company to the public, media, and stakeholders. The PRO develops communication strategies, manages media relations, and oversees all aspects of external communication to enhance brand visibility and reputation.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Media Relations**:
- Develop and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, and media outlets.
- Act as the main point of contact for all media inquiries and public statements.
- Prepare and distribute press releases, media kits, and promotional materials.
- **Crisis Management**:
- Develop and implement crisis communication strategies in response to unfavorable media coverage or public scrutiny.
- Provide guidance and respond to crises promptly to mitigate negative publicity.
- **Corporate Communication**:
- Draft speeches, statements, and presentations for executives and key personnel.
- Prepare internal and external newsletters, reports, and announcements.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure brand consistency in communication.
- **Event Management**:
- Organize press conferences, corporate events, and media tours to promote company initiatives.
- Coordinate sponsorships, partnerships, and promotional events to strengthen the company’s public presence.
- **Social Media & Digital PR**:
- Manage the company’s presence on social media platforms, ensuring positive engagement and brand consistency.
- Monitor online discussions and respond to public comments and concerns.
- Collaborate with digital marketing teams to leverage social media for public relations campaigns.
- **Stakeholder Engagement**:
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies, business partners, and community leaders.
- Represent the company at meetings, forums, and events to enhance relationships and networking.
- **Brand Management**:
- Ensure that all public communications are in line with the company’s brand values and guidelines.
- Monitor public perception and recommend strategies to enhance brand image.
- **Content Creation**:
- Write and edit communication materials such as press releases, articles, blog posts, and op-eds.
- Collaborate with content creators and graphic designers to develop engaging multimedia materials.
- **Publications**:
- Oversee the development and distribution of promotional materials such as brochures, reports, and annual publications.
- Ensure that all publications adhere to the company’s messaging and branding standards.
- **Monitoring & Reporting**:
- Monitor media coverage and public sentiment regarding the company, competitors, and industry trends.
- Prepare regular reports on PR activities, media exposure, and campaign effectiveness for senior management.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Previous experience in public relations, corporate communications, or media relations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong media relations skills with an established network of contacts.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and digital communication tools.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
