- Experience in leading whole school initiatives that have led to improvement in standards and achievement.
- Middle leadership experience is required.
- Experience working with parents and external agencies
- Experience of working with children with a variety of special educational needs
- Ability to present effectively to a range of audiences
- DSL Training is desirable but not essential
- Experience working successfully with partners in the local community is desirable but not essential
- Sound knowledge of policies and developments in SEN education is desirable but not essential

Aldar Education is currently seeking a Vice Principal for Abdulla Bin Otaiba Charter School in Abu Dhabi for an immediate start.

Abdulla Bin Otaiba (ABO) Charter School is looking to appoint a positive, dynamic, and enthusiastic Vice Principal, leading on Student Welfare, Attendance, and Pastoral care, to join our successful Leadership Team.

ABO is a US Curriculum Elementary Charter School, located in Mohammed Bin Zayed City in Abu Dhabi, UAE, operated by Aldar Education. We currently have 1580 students on roll, from KG1 to Grade 5.

The role will involve the leadership of Inclusion, SEND, Pastoral (Behavior and Attendance) and Safeguarding. A strong interest in and a commitment to the highest standards of teaching and learning, with excellent administration and communication skills, are paramount.

**Strategic Direction and Development of the School**:

- Undertake the professional duties of the Vice Principal reasonably delegated to you by the Principal.
- Undertake the professional duties of the Principal, in the event of his/her absence from the school.
- In partnership with the Principal and the Senior Leadership Team, provide professional leadership and management of student welfare throughout the school.
- To provide professional leadership and management of School Development Plan priorities.
- Assist the Principal in the ongoing and annual review in specific areas of responsibility and across all areas of school provision, consistent with the procedures in the school self-evaluation policy.

- Work with outside agencies and stakeholders to inform future action.

**Leading Teaching and Learning**:

- Work with the Principal to raise the quality of teaching and learning and pupil achievement, setting high expectations and monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of learning outcomes.
- Provide regular feedback for colleagues in a way that recognizes good practice and supports their progress against professional and performance management objectives resulting in a tangible impact on students' learning.
- Develop whole staff, phase teams, and individuals to enhance performance.
- Oversee the planning and delivery of staff meetings, including where necessary, bringing in outside speakers.
- Keep abreast of the latest developments in student support and disseminate them effectively to other members of staff.
- Plan, delegate, and evaluate work carried out by team(s) and individuals.
- Create, maintain, and enhance effective relationships.
- Recruit and select teaching and support staff.
