**The Role and Responsibilities - Managing Designer**

The role will require plugging into the broader Oliver Wyman business and the Organisational Effectiveness practice in order to successfully deliver the value proposition and capabilities of a high-end strategy firm.

Responsibilities within the role will sit across four key dimensions: Client Engagement Delivery (specialist and core), Business Development, People Leadership and 8works’ Venture Build.

**Managing Designer **leads the project and commercial management of multiple engagements whilst winning the trust of clients by delivering flawlessly, on time and on budget.

Unflappable, determined and a great relationship builder, you own day-to-day communications with the client and keep the team energized, aligned and coordinated.
- ** Delivery execution** Lead (with guidance) the design and delivery of smaller engagements and events, to:

- ** Define Success** contribute to client conversations and translate needs into a clear scope and description of results required.
- ** Design the work** shape and build fit for purpose designs, via a robust client design process.
- ** Deliver the outcomes and products** lead streams of work and working sessions, co-facilitate mid-sized (and lead smaller) engagements and events, manage creation of high-quality deliverables and outputs.

Creativity** Bring curiosity, new ideas and concepts in how we design and deliver work, via a range of best practice methods and ‘outside: in’ thinking. Ascertain the appetite and confidently ‘push the boundaries’, in a fashion appropriate to the context.
- ** Client Experience** Bring an intent and outcome mindset and think systemically to map client issues. Build strong client relationships and manage the client journey to deliver a great holistic experience
- ** Organise and Execute** You are great at planning and managing projects; balancing client and team needs. You can manage others and guide execution of deliverables
- ** Performance through People** Manage teams with awareness of strengths, weaknesses and preferences. Create positive environments, enabling colleagues and clients to enjoy and excel at their work.
- ** Commercial rigour** Understand commercial principles and pricing to forecast and track the delivery of profitable work.
- ** Communicate with Impact** You have excellent written skills and can produce near-client ready presentations. You effectively facilitate internal and client meetings with mid-senior level clients and can confidently deliver presentations to land with impact.
- ** Risk Mindfulness** Adhere to OW's risk management guidelines including protecting client confidential information. Avoid risk in delivery and pro-actively raise risk-related issues. Manages project close outs, sanitizing and archiving.
- ** Internal Stakeholders** Build relationships across the firm. Understand the internal landscape. Confidently articulate 8works' role in the OE and OW value proposition.
- ** Build client relationships** Present the 8works’ value and demonstrate expertise in 8works' methods in client conversations, pitches and tours.
- ** Plan and Price Work** Understand the OW Commercial Model, key metrics and tools to confidently price engagements.
- ** Build Winning Proposals** Build small-to-medium proposals, with mínimal guidance. Design approaches that will deliver desired outcomes. Contribute to efforts to embed 8works into the right OW opportunities and impactful proposals. Build proposal storyboards, documents and commercial models. Deliver pitches with confidence for small to medium proposals.
- ** Strategy and Direction **Articulate and understand the 8works, OE and OW strategy.
- ** Venture Development **Shape the venture and contribute to broader firm through shaping ways in which we can improve, taking on defined roles and leading delivery of development initiatives.
- ** Insights capture and sharing **Share new knowledge across the team and coordinate knowledge capture. Build awareness of available OW Intellectual Capital (IC) and how it can be used in our work.
- ** Thought leadership, IC, and market presence **Contribute to IC development (e.g. articles, industry talks, social media, white papers, POVs etc.).
