Maintain medical records folders for medical record office with name of the patient, address medical record number and name of attending physician.
- Receives consumables from material management department, maintains inventories and replenishes stocks.
- Route charts / forms where patient is transferred or discharged according to instructions from the Nurse. supervisor/ Nurse Incharge or following specified procedures.
- Complies consensus of patients and relevant data as instructed.
- Maintains inventories and stock supplies in the unit, prepares requisition to maintain established inventories.
- Obtains and dispatches messages and/ or requestion to the appropriate personnel or department.
- Makes appointment for patient in other departments within or outside the hospital as instructed by the registered nurse.
- Delivers mail, newspapers and flowers to the patients as needed.
- Ensure completion od patient medical records prior dispatch to the medical records office.
- Answers telephone and patient intercom (if applicable).
- Check mailbox frequently for incoming material and messages.
- Co-ordinate and liaises with other departments such as Environment Services and Facility Management in the provision and services to the unit.
- Works closely to the Admission and Reservation department regarding bed availability, admission, transfer and discharge.
- Greets, directs and give non-professional factual information to the patient, visitor and other healthcare provider.
- Maintained confidentiality of information and data relating to patients, staff, service and organization.
- To provide information/ education flyers to patients/ relatives/ visitors regarding the hospital producers (i.e., issuance of birth certificate and patient feedback).
- To perform any other duty as required by the lie manager that commensurate with the post
- Effective communication skills.Computer skills and knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- **FACILITY SPECIFIC RESPOSIBILITIES**:
- Complying consistently with NMC policies, procedures and practices.
- Maintaining confidentiality with regards to any information exchanged or received in the current capacity in accordance with the Confidentiality Agreement and Organizational Policy.
- Employee shall follow the Occupational safety Health Management System (OSHMS) Roles and Responsibilities, with Authority and Accountability provided by the health, safety and environment staff.
- Employee shall adhere to and follow infection control guidelines and quality standards as published by the Quality and Risk Management Department.
- Employee must understand and adhere to the Emergency Preparedness Plans/ Policy.
- Participate in mandatory trainings and workshops as required by the Organization and Regulators.
- Dress appropriately as per Organization policy and the culture of United Arab Emirates (UAE).
- **Working Conditions/ Environment**:
- The incumbent may be required to work during weekends, Public Holiday and nights.
- May be required to work overtime depending on the needs of the Organization.
- This job may require that ability to continuously stand or walk. It may also require that ability to bend, squat and lift documents and files.
- May be required to float to other units as required.
