Accountable for all day-to-day operations of the Modern pastry section of the kitchen.
- Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, pies and pastries following standard company recipe.
- Create new ideas and items once in a month should be approved by the pastry chef before putting on the shelf.
- Ensure excellent quality throughout the cake looks as well as taste.
- Follows proper handling and right temperature of all food products.
- Decorate pastries and desserts using different types of icings, toppings etc. and ensure the food presentation will be beautiful.
- Assists pastry chef in determining how food should be presented and create decorative food displays.
- Monitor stocks for baking ingredients needed for the operation.
- Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for making.
- Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to pastry chef immediately.
- Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
- Keep positive attitude and have the ability to work with a variety of people and in cooperation with co-workers efficiently and effectively
- Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization in all work areas.
- Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
- Serves as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene and Health and Safety standards.
- Clean equipment and appliances and stores food supplies; assure compliance with kitchen sanitation and safety procedures and regulations; clean refrigerators and storerooms on daily basis.
- Store unused food and supplies; disposes of unusable leftovers; utilize proper methods of handling food while being stored.
