**The role**:WKC is offering opportunities to experienced applicants with mid-level experience and a background in marine focused environmental consultancy. The role will be based on the UAE's Dubai office which is WKC's marine knowledge hub. The role will largely be in the role of marine ecology with a cross-over into permitting aspects and analysis of technical information for impact assessment purposes. This will include marine ecology and biodiversity surveys, environmental monitoring (water quality, sediment quality, noise, etc.) and technical report writing (EIA, environmental management plans, baseline reports etc.).

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead and Support WKC Marine Environmental Surveys, including:

- Benthic habitat identification;
- MMRO
- Water quality sampling
- Sediment quality sampling
- Habitat health assessment (e.g. seagrass and coral)
- Turtle nesting and hatching surveys
- Drop down video transects
- SCUBA transects
- Support Environmental Monitoring and Assurance Services;
- Deploy on secondment to WKC Clients (potentially offshore) to conduct;
- Environmental Monitoring
- Inspections
- Assurance and Environmental Reporting.
- Conduct data and sample analysis, including;
- Benthic infauna ID
- Plankton ID
- Video analysis / species identification
- Prepare technical reports and research, including;
- Academic research;
- Data summary and presentation;
- GIS presentation;
- Environmental Impact Assessment.
- Support in ESIA/EIA report writing, including;
- Interpretation of technical data into layman's terms;
- Prepare baseline sections through selection of data relevant to the project;
- Conduct marine impact assessments.
- Project Management and Client Liaison
- Prepare proposals and liaise with Client to generate new opportunities;
- Maintain Client relations and satisfaction through clear and diplomatic communication;
- Track financial performance and seek continuous improvement on projects managed.
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in relevant scientific discipline (Biology, Zoology, Ecology, Marine Science etc.);
- Experience (work or research experience) in field studies;
- Over 5 years UAE experience.
- Drivers license;
- Licensed SCUBA Diver
- Skipper licence (motor boat)
- Offshore Oil and Gas Experience;
- Experience in multiple jurisdictions (e.g. Saudi Arabia or multiple UAE emirates)
- MSc in relevant discipline
