The Wholesale COO construct has been brought together in line with HSBC investor commitments in February 2020, and as a result this is an opportunity to shape a key component of HSBC’s future state. This role will play a key part in bringing together existing CMB and GB teams to create a single Wholesale function. As part of this significant programme of change, the role holder is expected to re-design and rationalise the regional team, leveraging technology, to drive cost take-out with no degradation to client service.
We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our Wholesale NFR team, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.
**In this role, you will**:
- Be an energised, ambitious and high performing change agent who will lead the scoping and delivery of change programmes across the region.
- Be responsible for the end to end delivery of a single project (or work stream of a larger project or programme), proactively balancing scope, schedule, budget, risks, outcomes and benefits. Projects can be standalone or form part of a programme. Change Managers may support 'small changes' by providing oversight and guidance to multiple smaller initiatives.
- Develop the plan within constraints, and in line with HSBC project management methodology, considering the delivery approach, key milestones and dependencies within the plan, requirements and scope, effort and resources, budgets and quality.
- Proactively monitor project execution to effectively identify risks/issues/dependencies as they arise throughout the project lifecycle.
- Take ownership of critical issues and ensures resolution within agreed timescales and implement mitigating plans against identified risks and issues. Escalate when needed to the Wholesale Head of Strategic Change.
- Collaborate and build positive stakeholder and business partner relationships providing regular updates and proactively resolving high priority issues affecting the project.
- Analyse management reports, and derive insights from it to drive the right business decisions.
- Mobilises the project team and allocates tasks and roles efficiently and effectively
- Promotes and takes accountability for project quality; identifying opportunities to improve delivery and overseeing the governance process to reduce risk and ensure effective and timely decisions are taken
- Ensure key learnings are captured from each Project/ Programme to improve methodologies and share best practice
- Be accountable for the timely and high quality delivery of programmes, adhering to HSBC core frameworks
- Promote a positive work culture based on respect for people, integrity of actions, creativity and collaboration leading to increased productivity
- Promote the value of challenging the status quo, seeking to improve ways of working and having a forward-thinking mind-set, in line with the Group’s values and strategy
- Be conversant with all facets of the change process including co-creating business cases and justification for initiatives, initiation of programmes, designing an approach and plan, defining the business architect, programme management, business analysis, readiness and implementation needs as well as ensuring programme outcomes and benefits materialize.
- Responsible for the timely and high quality delivery of programmes, adhering to HSBC core frameworks (Business Transformation Framework, Agile).
Requirements

- Experience on the delivery of complex and business critical change in accordance with existing industry best practices and methodologies.
- Strong organisational and planning skills with knowledge on when and how to re-prioritise, or escalate as required. Proven problem solving skills with ability to consider alternative and innovative solutions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels. Outstanding relationship management and influencing skills, with experience of successfully working across multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural diverse work environments
- Knowledge and experience of being flexible and adaptable in an environment of constantly changing priorities, challenging bureaucracy, whilst staying true to the values and strategy of the Group
