Role Context: Serving as the Data Privacy Officer, the Senior Manager will provide independent guidance on how customer, employee and business data is collected, used, stored, shared and retained. The position connects legal obligations with operational and technology practices across all operating countries. Effective oversight will reduce regulatory exposure, support customer trust and help business teams adopt privacy requirements without obstructing legitimate commercial activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the organization 's Data Privacy Officer and principal privacy advisor.
  • Interpret privacy laws and translate their requirements into practical business controls.
  • Advise teams on lawful, fair and transparent processing of personal information.
  • Develop, implement and maintain privacy policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
  • Align internal privacy practices with regulatory requirements across operating markets.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting personal-data processing.
  • Assess the impact of legal changes and update internal controls proactively.
  • Work with Legal, Compliance, Information Security and business teams on protection strategies.
  • Provide privacy guidance for new products, services, systems and commercial initiatives.
  • Maintain complete Records of Processing Activities.
  • Lead Data Protection Impact Assessments for projects presenting elevated privacy risk.
  • Conduct privacy-risk assessments and recommend proportionate mitigation measures.
  • Review data flows, processing purposes, retention periods and third-party access.
  • Support privacy-by-design practices throughout project and system-development lifecycles.
  • Manage data-subject requests within applicable legal deadlines.
  • Coordinate responses involving access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection rights.
  • Oversee the privacy aspects of security incidents and suspected personal-data breaches.
  • Ensure incidents are investigated, documented, escalated and resolved appropriately.
  • Assess whether regulatory or individual notifications are legally required.
  • Act as the primary contact for data-protection authorities and regulatory inquiries.
  • Coordinate privacy audits and provide accurate evidence of compliance.
  • Design and deliver training, workshops and awareness campaigns.
  • Promote a privacy-first culture through practical guidance and recurring communication.
  • Monitor compliance performance and report significant risks to senior leadership.
  • Evaluate third-party privacy risks and contractual data-protection requirements.

Ideal Profile Applicants must have at least five years of dedicated data-privacy experience, including practical responsibility for compliance programs, privacy assessments and regulatory interpretation. Experience working across multiple jurisdictions is important because the role supports operations in several countries. CIPM, CIPP-E or another recognized privacy certification is preferred. The successful candidate will combine legal and regulatory knowledge with sound operational judgment. Strong written English, careful documentation and the confidence to advise senior stakeholders are essential.
