Grandiose is a proudly home-grown premium retail chain that redefines shopping and dining experiences in the UAE. As a fast-growing and dynamic brand, we are seeking an energetic, customer-focused, and business-driven Head of Marketing to lead our expansion and elevate our market presence.
Purpose of the job
The Head of Marketing at Grandiose Supermarket will be responsible for driving brand building, top line growth, customer engagement through a fully integrated marketing strategy that spans online and offline channels. This senior role will oversee branding, marketing communication, store events, sponsorship and partnerships, customer insights. Responsible to ensure the brand shows up consistently at its best across any marketing channel. The ideal candidate is an experienced retail leader who can build marketing capabilities, including shaping processes that improve customer experience, and leverage data-driven insights to inform the marketing strategy and the broader operational improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Integrated Marketing Strategy:
- Develops and executes a comprehensive, omnichannel marketing strategy and plans that align with Grandiose business objectives and brand identity.
- Leads on the brand campaign briefs and plans, aligning with the other internal stakeholders (ie: commercial and pos director), overseeing that all campaign parts are executed on time and consistently. Ensures alignment and synergy across digital channels, in-store promotions and activations, and any other channel.
- Is responsible to strategize and execute Grandiose marketing plans delivers the target customer acquisition, and the overall brand funnel growth.
- Is responsible to maximize the activation of local community, by leading the community activation manager and the partnership lead in their job of partnership development and activation, enrollment of partnership staff on the Loyalty program, engagement of Grandiose in the communities' event and social network.
- Is responsible for activating the right event sponsorship and partnerships, maximizing reach and awareness with targeted consumer whilst possibly generating sales too.
- Owns the integration of the new concepts in store (ie: Brand partnerships like Knotbakehouse for Grandiose), concerning the marketing launch and comarketing efforts to drive awareness and business performance.
- Ensure that every new store in the expansion pipeline launches successfully with effective marketing campaigns that align to the expectation and profile of the local community.
Collaboration with other functional leaders:
The head of marketing collaborates with the Group Head of CRM to:
- Shape the Loyalty strategy for Grandiose, ensuring CRM execution is aligned to the marketing campaigns and commercial plans.
- Lead how our CRM supports hyperlocal/community activation.
- Ensure full engagement along implementation of new CRM projects.
The head of marketing is responsible for the execution of strong omnichannel marketing communication aiming at growing acquisition to the loyalty program.
The head of marketing collaborates with the Group Head of digital and the group Head of Brands and Cx, to ensure the best execution of performance marketing, creative and social media content at the service of the integrated campaigns in plan.
- Leads the branding initiatives to strengthen the Grandiose brand, creating a cohesive recognizable, compelling food retail brand in the market.
- Guides the development of the Brand positioning campaigns establishing the brand's promise and value across all channels, ensuring tangible improvement of the brand funnel (from awareness to advocacy).
E-Commerce Support:
- Work closely with the e-commerce team to ensure seamless integration between the online and offline shopping experiences and brand expression.
- Provide marketing support for online sales initiatives, promotions, and customer acquisition strategies to drive traffic and conversion.
Customer Insights & Process Design:
- Leverage market research and customer feedback to gain insights into customer needs, preferences, and behaviors.
- Design and implement processes for gathering and analyzing customer insights, using data to inform decisions that improve customer satisfaction and retention.
Performance Measurement & Reporting:
- Establish KPIs and metrics for all marketing campaigns, tracking and analyzing performance to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Prepare and present regular reports on marketing performance, customer satisfaction, and ROI to senior leadership.
Other Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Sales, Operations, and Merchandising, commercial, ecommerce, to drive cohesive marketing initiatives that support store performance.
Capabilities building:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of marketing professionals, fostering a high-performance culture focused on innovation and accountability.
- Design the evolution of the team organization and fill skills gaps.
- Shape strong processes to ensure efficient execution and cross functional alignment.
- Build an ecosystem of external agencies supporting in the relevant areas (branding, marketing comms, media, insights). Manage agencies efficiently.
- Identify marketing technology gaps and shape the tech requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in a senior marketing role, should have at least 5 years of marketing leadership experience in the retail chain or supermarket sector and in the GCC region.
- Demonstrated expertise in integrated marketing, Digital, CRM, and e-commerce support.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with customer insights, brand management, and process design.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Proficiency in CRM, digital marketing, and data analytics.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement marketing strategies that support business goals.
- Customer-Centric Approach: Deep understanding of customer experience, insights, and satisfaction metrics.
- Brand Management: Skilled in managing and evolving brand identity and positioning.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Capability to analyze customer and market data to drive insights and strategy.
- Stakeholder management: skilled in managing senior stakeholders, even in context of business pressure.
- Adaptability: Ability to lead in a dynamic, maturing, and fast-paced retail environment.
