Internship at ElcomeThe role
  • Produce designs for monitoring and control systems in accordance with latest marine standards and regulations
  • Demonstrate knowledge of products available locally
  • Design complete hardware and configure software for systems such as PLC's
  • Present cost-effective customized solutions
  • Collaborate with internal teams, onsite engineers and customers
RequirementsEducationTechnical requirements

Candidate must be adept in PLC programming, Electrical CAD, E-Tap, power analysis software. Light level/lumen calculation experience will be considered advantageous.

As an apprentice, the candidate will be introduced to various automation control systems such as Alarm Monitoring Systems (AMS), Power Management System (PMS), Bridge Maneuvering System (BMS), environmental solutions, surveillance, and safety monitoring equipment. The prospective candidate will gain first-hand experience in the field as they visit vessels, perform inspections and complete on-board jobs. Moreover, the candidate will gain exposure to globally acclaimed manufacturers and new technologies. This internship role may lead to a permanent position within the organization.

Responsibilities

Technical Expertise:

  • Have hands-on experience in Marine and Industrial Automation solutions, demonstrating a strong command of PLC and SCADA technologies.
  • Interpret and analyze process P&ID to design and implement tailored automation solutions.

Innovative Project Leadership:

  • Take the lead in conceptualizing and initiating new projects, showcasing innovative thinking.
  • Drive the development of customized solutions that align with client needs and industry standards.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, actively contributing to the success of the engineering team.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of automation solutions.

Communication and Engagement:

  • The candidate should be able to communicate well in English, both written and spoken.
  • Effectively communicate with OEMs across the globe, engaging in technical and commercial discussions.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers and customers to understand requirements and provide optimal solutions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in Marine and Industrial Automation solutions.
  • Proficient in PLC and SCADA technologies.
  • Strong understanding of process P&ID.
  • Proven ability to initiate and lead projects with successful outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and commercial discussions.
  • Positive attitude, being a team player, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
