We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our expanding team in the Middle East and work on a range of challenging projects, specifically in our expanding Ground Engineering team based in Dubai.

Responsibilities

The candidate will be required to work in a variety of roles including:

  1. Leading geotechnical investigation scoping, management, and interpretation.
  2. Geotechnical design for infrastructure projects alongside various environmental science and engineering professionals.
  3. Managing a team of geotechnical engineers across a number of major infrastructure projects.
  4. Managing and developing internal and external clients as part of the wider regional ground engineering group.
  5. Regularly reporting back to senior management on project status, programme, financial position, etc.
Requirements

A proven track record in:

  1. Geotechnical investigation management and interpretation.
  2. Design of deep and shallow foundations, piles, retaining walls, and other related infrastructure.
  3. Managing a team of engineers to deliver projects on time and to specified budgets.
  4. Building relationships with both clients and staff with the ability to influence and coach others.
  5. Working in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment (ideally including international experience).
  6. A high level of technical capability and attention to detail.
  7. A good academic background with a civil engineering/geotechnical engineering bachelor's or master's degree.
  8. A minimum of 7-10 years experience in the civil/geotechnical fields in a consulting environment.
  9. Approaching or have achieved chartered status (or equivalent) within a relevant professional association.
  10. A high level of numeracy and attention to detail with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work.
  11. Appropriate experience in the use of geotechnical analysis software (gINT, PLAXIS, Slope W, Seep W, and Piglet, etc.).
  12. Good written and verbal communication skills (clear, concise report writing will be required).
  13. Preference will be given to candidates with relevant experience working on Metro/Rail Projects.
