Responsibilities

JobDescription

  • In-depth understanding of staticequipment including pressure vessels, air-coolers, heat exchangers,fire heaters, API 650 tanks, columns etc. used generally in oil andgas / refinery / industries for onshore and offshore applications,and select correct types of equipment for a given process serviceapplication
  • Fully conversant with mechanicalengineering design software’s such as PVELITE, TANK,COMPRESS, FINGLOW etc.
  • Fully conversant withmaterials used for pressure vessels, heat exchangers and storagetanks
  • Work on static equipment design softwarefor mechanical design.
  • Prepare and checkequipment specifications and datasheets
  • Prepareand check procurement engineering documents, like tenderdocuments/RFQs, technical bid analysis, purchaserecommendations
  • Vendor follow-ups, check& approval of vendor drawings/documents and witnessing offactory acceptance tests (FAT)
  • Attend sitevisits
  • Checking of Interdisciplinary documentsduring IDC review cycle
  • Coordination with otherdisciplines as required, ensuring success of multi-disciplineproject parallel working
  • Preparation andestimation of equipment loads and foundation loaddata

  • Design and Analysis ofStatic Equipment

    • Leadthe design and analysis of static equipment, ensuring they arestructurally sound, safe, and compliant with industrystandards.
    • Perform detailed stress analysisusing software tools (e.g., CAESAR II, ANSYS, STAAD.Pro) toevaluate the performance of pressure vessels, heat exchangers,storage tanks, and other equipment.
    • Selectappropriate materials and design methods based on load conditions,operating environments, and safetyconsiderations.

  • Compliancewith Codes andStandards

    • Ensuredesigns adhere to relevant codes and standards, such as ASME (e.g.,ASME BPVC for pressure vessels), API (e.g., API 650 for storagetanks), and ISO standards.
    • Stay updated onchanges in codes and regulations to ensure all equipment designsare compliant with the latestrequirements.
    • Conduct safety and riskassessments to identify potential hazards related to staticequipment.

  • Maintenanceand Inspection

    • Overseethe inspection, testing, and maintenance programs for staticequipment to ensure operationalintegrity.
    • Provide technical guidance onregular maintenance and repairs to ensure the longevity and safeoperation of equipment.
    • Lead root causeanalysis (RCA) investigations for equipment failures and proposecorrectiveactions.

  • ProjectManagement andLeadership

    • Managestatic engineering projects, from concept through design,installation, and commissioning, ensuring deadlines, budgets, andquality standards are met.
    • Supervise and mentorjunior engineers and technical staff, providing guidance on designapproaches, technical challenges, and bestpractices.
    • Review and approve engineeringcalculations, drawings, and reports produced by other teammembers.

  • Stressand FatigueAnalysis

    • Conductadvanced stress and fatigue analyses for static equipment subjectedto high pressures, thermal cycles, and mechanicalloads.
    • Use finite element analysis (FEA) andother engineering tools to simulate operating conditions and ensureequipment will withstand stress overtime.
    • Evaluate the effects of corrosion, wear,and other environmental factors on the structural integrity ofequipment.

  • TechnicalDocumentation andReporting

    • Prepare andreview detailed technical documentation, including design reports,calculations, material specifications, and maintenanceprocedures.
    • Ensure that all engineeringdrawings and documents are accurate, complete, and comply withcompany and regulatory requirements.
    • Supportproject teams with technical clarifications during construction andcommissioningphases.
