Roles and responsibilities

This position is responsible tooversee the development and management of IT infrastructure tosupport achieving company's international strategicgoals, ensuring operational efficiency, security, and scalabilityacross all departments and internationalterminals.

CoreResponsibilities:

  • Overseethe design, implementation, and maintenance of thecompany's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers,and cloud services ensuring optimal performance andsecurity.
  • Lead the design, architecture andintegration of IT systems across the international terminalsensuring scalable, secure and seamlessoperations.
  • Manage cloud-based solutions thatsupport the organization's infrastructure needs,optimizing for performance, security, andcost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and enforce ITsecurity policies and protocols to protect company'sdata, ensuring compliance with international standards andmitigating potential cybersecuritythreats.
  • Provide high-level technical supportand guidance to the IT team, international terminals, and otherdepartments, resolving complex issues and ensuring smooth operationof all systems.
  • Design and implement disasterrecovery and business continuity plans to ensure minimal disruptionto operations in the event of system failures or cyberincidents.
  • Oversee the optimization of thecompany's network infrastructure, ensuring reliableconnectivity and efficient data flow.
  • Build andmaintain strong relationship with external IT vendors, participatein negotiating contracts, direct effective service delivery, andensure that all third-party solutions meet the company'stechnical and operational standards.
  • Ensure theintegrity, availability, and security of corporate data,implementing best practices for data storage, backup, andrecovery.

People ManagementResponsibilities:

  • Leadand mentor, whether directly or through interpersonal skills, theterminal IT professionals, providing guidance, support, anddevelopment opportunities to enhance their skills andperformance.
  • Identify staffing needs within theIT department, either in corporate or at the terminals, participatein the recruitment process, and ensure that the team is equippedwith the necessary skills and expertise to meet organizationalgoals.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, setclear objectives for the team, and provide constructive feedback todrive continuous improvement and professionalgrowth.
  • Foster a collaborative environmentwithin the IT team and with other departments, promoting knowledgesharing and teamwork to achieve commongoals.
  • Develop and implement training programsto keep the IT team updated on the latest technologies, tools, andbest practices relevant to their roles.

StrategicResponsibilities:

  • Collaboratewith senior leadership to develop and execute a comprehensive ITstrategy that align with the business objectives of theInternational Business Office.
  • Develop andmanage the IT budget, ensuring that resources are allocatedeffectively to support both current operations and future growthinitiatives.
  • Identify and evaluate newtechnologies and solutions that could enhance thecompany's IT infrastructure and operations, drivinginnovation and competitiveadvantage.
  • Communicate IT strategies,initiatives, and performance metrics to senior management and keystakeholders, providing insights and recommendations for continuousimprovement.

Knowledge &Skills:

  • Bachelor'sdegree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a relatedfield. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Aminimum of 15 years of experience in a similarrole.
  • Proficiency in English language (writtenand spoken). Knowledge of Arabic language isadvantageous.
  • Experience in IT infrastructuremanagement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferablyin a Port, Maritime, or Logisticsenvironment.
  • Proven ability to lead theplanning, development, and execution of IT infrastructure andsystems strategies aligned with organizationalgoals.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience withnetwork architecture, cloud computing, data centers, cybersecurity,and enterprise systems.
  • Strong background inoverseeing complex IT projects, including system upgrades,migration, and integration, ensuring on-time and on-budgetdelivery.
  • Experience in engaging with internaland external stakeholders to ensure alignment with business needsand technology solutions.
  • Demonstrated successin managing and mentoring IT teams, fostering collaboration, anddriving high performance.
