Job Summary:

Piping Designer is accountable forproducing and maintaining piping deliverables (including but notlimited to: drawings BOMs 3D models and sketches) in accordancewith industry standards codes and client specifications within theschedule and budget as setout by the Lead PipingDesigner/Engineer.

  • Responsible for thetechnical integrity of assigned Piping Engineeringactivities.
  • Responsible for quality defined inquality management system in general as well as according togoverning rules regulations standards specifications and orprocedures.
  • Independent responsibility for theprofessional execution of the work assigned to theteam.
  • Contribute to efficient execution incompliance with the Projectschedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of the PipingDesigner shall include but are not limited to those contained inthe following statements:

  • Layoutdesign activities on Tender / projects under the direction of aLead Designer.
  • Conceptual layout study withrespect to the scope of supply.
  • 3D modellingusing PDMS/E3D for piping design of skid packages &interconnections.
  • Draught & checkdetailed design drawings of piping systems & supports inaccordance with industry standards codes and clientspecifications.
  • Prepare & checkmaterials takeoffs and bill ofmaterials.
  • Prepare 2D equipment layout pipinglayout general arrangement drawings piping isometrics and detaildrawings using Autocad.
  • Participate inreviewing and checking designs drawings and data from otherparties/execution offices.
  • Manage drawings andrecords to demonstrate procedural compliance with QA activities forinternal reviews
  • Establish good workingrelationships and communication with discipline leads departmentmanagers and clients.
  • Adhere to the HSErequirements stipulated byCompany/Clients
  • Undertake any other generalduties that may be requested. The list of duties is not exhaustivein any way and may change at anytime.

BEHAVIORALSKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • Diploma in Mechanicalengineering from an accredited university orequivalent
  • Experience in similar positionworking for EPC Projects in Oil & Gassector.
  • Should have basic piping designknowledge for Process equipment like Separators Columns ExchangersFin fan coolers used in Oil & Gasprojects.
  • Piping design experience related toProcess skids and packages for upstream/midstream projects would bepreferred.
  • Ability to review the technicalspecifications P&IDs etc.
  • Ability todemonstrate previous experience in the use of AutoCAD/Microstation2D.
  • Ability to demonstrate 3D Modellingexperience using PDMS/ E3D. Ability to demonstrate generation ofMTO.
  • A basic understanding of constructabilityoperability and maintainabilityrequirements.
  • Must have good working knowledgeof piping codes and standards (ASME ASTM API ANSIetc).
  • Display a working knowledge of industrystandard drafting practices.
  • Verbal and writtencommunication using English ismandatory.
  • Ability to work in a multiculturalteam environment. Proficiency with MS Officeapplications.
  • Strong work ethic and proactivedrive to deliver projects within schedule. Ensure deliverables meetstrict quality standards.
  • Maintaining thehighest levels of Health andSafety.

EDUCATION ANDEXPERENCE REQUIRED:

Essential

  • Diploma Degree inMechanical Engineering or equivalent degree from recognizeduniversity.
  • Minimum of 8 10 work experience inthe Oil & Gas industry
  • Piping designexperience related to Process skids and packages forupstream/midstream projects.
  • 3D modelling usingPDMS/E3D
  • Prepare 2D equipment layout pipinglayout general arrangement drawings piping isometrics and detaildrawings using Autocad
  • MTOgeneration.
  • Experience in Tenderengineering.
  • Reviewing specifications anddrawings.
