The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Piping Designer with a proven track record in creating detailed design plans and layouts for piping systems, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with industry standards for a high-profile client.

    The key objectives for this role are
    • Lead the creation of detailed piping system designs, layouts, and drawings (e.g., P&IDs, isometric drawings, and 3Dmodels
    • Manage multiple piping design projects concurrently, coordinating with other engineering disciplines, contractors, and clients
    • Review and approve piping design documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with quality standards
    • Work closely with mechanical engineers, structural engineers, and other design disciplines to ensure design integrity and coordination across systems
    • Select appropriate materials for piping systems based on operational requirements, environmental considerations, and cost-effectiveness
    • Lead and mentor junior designers and drafters, providing guidance and support to ensure the technical quality of their work
RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
  • Good all - round knowledge of Piping design with Brownfield offshore experience and Smart Plant 3D modelling and reviewing software
  • Execute design and droughting activities (Concept, Front End Engineering Development, Technical Study and Detailed Design)
  • Prepare sketches, Piping drawings and designs from agreed work scopes with minimum input from engineering personnel
  • Achieve safety standards as defined in personal performance contract
  • Responsible for assessing effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems, personal and team performance
  • Carry out site surveys
  • Ensure, as far as is practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and schedule
  • Maintain required technical quality of work
  • Keep up to date with technical developments, national and international standards and legislative requirements related to discipline work scope
  • Maintain filing system
  • Encourage and provide lateral learning within project
  • Provide technical assistance to discipline assigned personnel as required
  • Assist Lead / Senior Engineer and others when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties

Expected:
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with minimum of 15+ years of experience
  • Offshore experience is mandatory
  • Sound knowledge of manual and CAD draughting techniques
  • Software skills like AUTOCAD, MICROSTATION, etc is mandatory
  • 3D Software skills like E3D, SP3D is mandatory
  • Aware of and able to use codes of practice, standards, and relevant sections of statutory documentation as applicable to draughting function
  • Aware of and able to use COMPANY and CLIENT standards
  • Able to create base design drawings / models from agreed work scope with minimal guidance
  • Computer literate (database / spreadsheets)
  • Ability to accept delegated responsibility for designated tasks
  • Experience in acting as a focal point / Self checking / checking of others work
