  • Maintains vehicles andmedical and communication equipment and replenishes firstaidequipment and supplies. 
  • Restocks allsupplies in the ambulance and replace used blankets linens andother supplies.
  • Cleans all equipment followingappropriate disinfectingprotocols.
  • Continuously reassures the patientenroute to the emergencyfacility. 
  • Assists all EMT paramedicsin efficient advance life support caresystem. 
  • Performs directillness/injury assessment provides Advanced emergency prehospitalpatient  care to the ill and injured prior to and duringambulance transfer and transfer of information to receivingfacility. 
  • Maintains operational andfunctional readiness of ambulance unit medical and other equipmentto ensure continuum of emergencyservices. 
  • Works closely withcommunications officers field supervisors emergency department andother hospital personnel the police dept. the fire dept. and otherindividuals to deliver basic emergency and nonemergency medicalservices to the generalpublic. 
  • Respond to calls fromcommunications dispatcher use appropriate radio communicationskills read GPS maps drive the ambulance safely to and from thescene of injury or illness use the most expeditious route andobserve traffic ordinances and regulation with the goal to locatethe patient needing EMS services in the shortest response timepossible. 
  • Assists in lifting carryingtransporting patient to ambulance and on to a medical facilityreassuring patients and bystanders avoiding mishandling patient andundue haste and to provide additional emergency care followingestablished protocols. 
  • Followestablished departmental policies procedures and objectivescontinuous quality improvement objectives and safety environmentaland/or infection control standards in the performance ofduties. 
  • Inspect and clean ambulanceand equipments; to review and restock all medical equipment toensure their completeness and operational readiness at all times inconsultation and collaboration with field supervisor and incompliance with safety and infection control regulations andstandards. 
  • Conducts scenesizeup.
  • Conduct primary and secondary patientexaminations.
  • Take and record vitalsigns.
  • Utilize noninvasive diagnosticdevices.
  • Properly use of oropharyngeal& nasopharyngeal airway devices.
  • Openand maintain airway by positioning the patientshead.
  • Provide CPR & rescue breathingfor infant children and adults.
  • Provide carefor soft tissue injuries and control bleeding through directpressure.
  • Provide care for suspectedfractures.
  • Immobilization using spinal boardcervical collar and splints.
  • Assist withprehospital childbirth.
  • Calm down the victimsfamily members.
  • Ventilate with a noninvasivepositive pressure delivery device.
  • Provide carefor suspected shock including the use of pneumatic antishockgarment.
  • Obtain capillary blood specimen forblood glucose monitoring.
  • Operate bag valvemask device with reservoir.
  • Perform cardiacdefibrillation with an automatic externaldefibrillator.
  • Perform tracheobronchial tubesuctioning on endotracheal intubatedpatient.
  • Understands the use of body substanceisolation.
  • Understands basic medicallegalprinciples.
  • Functions within only the scope ofcare as defined by state region and local regulatoryagencies.
  • Complies with regulations on thehandling of the deceased notifies authorities and arranges forprotection of property and evidence at thescene.
  • Determine that the vehicle is in propermechanical condition.
  • Maintains familiaritywith specialized equipment used byservice.
  • Attends continuing education andrefresher training programs.
  • Complete a clearand accurate prehospital emergency care report from all patientcontacts and provide copy of the reportaccordingly.

Qualifications:

  • Internationallyrecognized EMTP course or equivalent (Minimum two (2) years courseduration) or minimum of two (2) years Associate degree in EMT AndHold a valid BLS ACLS PALS PHTLSCertification
  • At least two (2) years of  experience.
  • Currentlylicensed in country of origin and with DOH license to practice inAbu Dhabi UAE. 
  • Fluent in spoken& written English Arabic language is desirable but notessential.
